Pets Being Rehomed

The Humane Society of South Mississippi partners with Home To Home™ to provide a rehoming option for pet owners as an alternative to surrendering pets to the shelter. This service allows pets to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their current home while a new family is found, reducing stress for the animal and preserving kennel space at HSSM for pets who have no one to advocate for them.

Home To Home™ is an online pet placement platform that connects current pet owners directly with individuals interested in adopting. Pets listed through this service are not in the care or custody of HSSM, and all communication occurs directly between the pet’s caregiver and potential adopters.

It is the responsibility of the current owner to fully and accurately disclose all relevant information about the pet, including medical history, behavior, and any bite history. Likewise, individuals interested in adopting a pet through the platform are responsible for asking questions and verifying this information prior to adoption. All details included in a pet’s listing are provided by the caregiver, and HSSM does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of this information.
