I Lost a Pet

If you live in Harrison County, HSSM is a great place to begin looking for your lost pet. HSSM works with the Animal Control Agencies for unincorporated Harrison County, as well as the cities of Biloxi, Long Beach, Pass Christian, and Wiggins. HSSM accepts stray animals from these jurisdictions–so if you think your pet may have ended up in one of these areas, make sure you check here frequently for your pet.

It is important to note that Mississippi law states that an animal be held for 5 days and then it can be adopted out. Please make sure that you check at least every couple of days for your pet!

Click here for HSSM’s online Lost Pets Listing to find descriptions and pictures of all the pets recently brought to HSSM as strays.

HSSM is the largest animal welfare organization in the state of Mississippi and is a great place to start looking for your lost pet.

Don’t see your pet on our Lost Pet Listing? Check out HSSM’s “I Lost A Pet” tips for more ways to increase your chances of reunion with your missing pet.

Please Note: If you have lost your pet in the City of Gulfport, you will want to call Gulfport PAWS (Police Animal Welfare Shelter) at 228-868-5703 or check their site for your pet. Additionally, D’Iberville residents may also want to contact Happy Tails Clinic at (228) 392-4564 to search for your lost pet.
