I Lost a Pet

If you live in Harrison County (or any of our surrounding counties), you have come to the right place. HSSM works with all the municipal and county Animal Control Agencies within Harrison County. ALL pets picked up by these agencies are brought to HSSM.

Additionally, another 15% of the animals at HSSM come from outside of Harrison County. So, if you live in a neighboring county we may also have your pet.

It is important to note that Mississippi law states that an animal be held for 5 days and then it can be adopted out. Please make sure that you check at least every couple of days for your pet!

Click here for HSSM’s online Lost Pets Listing to find descriptions and pictures of all the pets recently brought to HSSM as strays.

HSSM is the largest animal welfare organization in the state of Mississippi and is a great place to start looking for your lost pet.

Don’t see your pet on our Lost Pet Listing? Check out HSSM’s “I Lost A Pet” tips for more ways to increase your chances of reunion with your missing pet.
